PC BUILD compatibility and overview

Mar 22, 2017
Case: Corsair Spec-01
CPU: Core i7-7700k 4.2 GHz Q ^Cooler: CRYORIG C7 40.5CFM
Motherboard: MSI - B250M PRO-VD Micro ATX LGA1151
GTX 960 (Graphics Card)
1 Ballistix 8 GB Ram
1TB Western Didgital Black (Memory)
430W CorsairCX430 (Power Supply)
(I am running Windows 10)

1. Will this build be worth my money/Will it be efficient? I already have everything except the motherboard, CPU, and CPU cooler fan

2. Will all these parts be compatible with each other?

3. I don't want to overclock it. Will I have to?

(Just in case if you want to see an easier view of everything)
Compatible, but that's too much CPU for that GPU, so it depends what else you would do with it. Either drop to an i5 and save for a better GPU or spend the same on an R7 1700x, which is a superiour CPU for everything except high FPS gaming(which you will not be doing on that GPU anyway).

EDIT: Another thing to consider is that Intel will be announcing 6 core i7s later this month at probably the same price bracket as the 7700k, so I wouldn't by a 7700k these days anyway.

What will be your purpose of using the PC ? What is your budget for CPU, CPU cooler, and motherboard ? And if you do not want to overclock, why would you go for an i7 7700k ? You can save some money by buying some other CPU rather than K ones.

The purpose of this pc is gaming, I don't know a whole lot about specs and computers so I need some guidance on what my best move is.

If you are going with a 7700k, get a z270 and a decent cooler. Since you already have the case, u can either go for the H7, which gives what you need at stock speeds. Or get this i32 which has a 2 fan push pull config :
