Hello, this may not be the place to post this, but I have a problem building a desktop pc for a friend built out of a 2003 dell dimension slimline, and the motherboard is a ASUS H110M-A and the mobo has a pin connecter for the power peripherals, the desktop on the otherhand has a IDE port for the power, I'm wondering if anyone would have any ideas,i would be greatful for any info. 😀

I think you are mixing up some terms there.

By IDE power I assume you mean the older, large, style 4-pin molex connector. (12V, GND, GND, 5V) vs the more modern SATA power connectors.

If you have already replaced the motherboard, go ahead and get a new case and power supply. It will make this much, much easier. You'll then have all standard parts.

But, if that isn't an option, plenty of 4-pin to SATA adapters out there.

Thank you, it's funky I actually have a picture. Of the IDE unit and the case in particular is for a friend who is adament about the case(Christmas gift), I'll try to post the picture to show, (first time here lol)

When not actually used for ATAPI/IDE it is just referred to as a ribbon cable. They just used that because it was cheap and readily available. Pretty much impossible to use that without a lot of poking around with a multimeter.
