Looking for recommendations for a friend who has low budget and isn't willing to go for second hand components. Main purpose is gaming, but it's fine if latest games don't work on it. All the parts he is going for are low end. I am posting mainly for CPU recommendation .

Build so far,

i5-10400F
GTX 1650/1660
Gigabyte H470M K
Adata XPG Gammix S11 Pro 1TB 3D Nand M.2 NVMe SSD
Adata 3200MHz DDR4 8x2 AX4U32008G16A-DT50
Adata XPG Pylon 650W 80 Plus Bronze SMPS

I would like to know if any parts are overkill for 1650/1660 build.

1650 is too slow for gaming even at 1080p .
also 1660 (1660Ti / super is better) and it costs almost as much as rx 6600 .
i would do something like this
(i did not include the power supply since that XPG 650w is a good budget psu if you can get it for 55-65 dollars)

ryzen 5600 is faster than 10400f and it also has better/cheaper upgrade path .
if you want intel go for i3 13100f .
but invest as much as you can to video card (i would not go for anything slower than rx 6600 ,
since you would only save couple of bucks
but you would lose a lot of performance compared to 1660 / 6500xt , even 1660Ti / super are a lot slower than rx 6600)

Go with a B560 board if it fits into your budget.
