PC build for a friend

In theory that buuld is fine. The only real problem is as @kanewolf said. Don't buy two separate 8Gb sticks. Buy a pack of 2x8Gb. As he said, they're made to run together and will perform much better.

I would also add two more comments:
1. I would upgrade that PSU to a better quality one or for example the Corsair CXM (but more expensive)
2. For the price of that Intel SSD, you can get a Samsung EVO which will be much better.

I would look at a Ryzen 3, or Ryzen 5, or Ryzen 7 based build, over that dead end Kaby lake rig.

Be careful, you chose a 1st Gen CPU with a B450 motherboard. This will require a BIOS update, which cannot be done as the motherboard BIOS will not post using a 1st Gen CPU.

You have 3 alternatives here:
- Either get a B350 motherboard
- Either get a 2nd Gen Ryzen 7 CPU
- Ask seller to upgrade the motherboard for you

There is a chance that the board will have the required version but in the off chance it doesn't. You will experience frustration.

B450 doesn't need a bios update to run 1st gen. Bios updates only need done for B350 boards with 2nd gen CPU's.

No it is not. Ryzen needs to be paired with fast ram. DDR4 3000, at the very least.

Seriously? I currently run a B450 with an overclocked 1800X and it works perfectly fine, and I didn't need a BIOS update out of the box.

This is an actual screen cap from my CPU-Z:

You would need a BIOS update if you're using a newer gen CPU on an older gen board, *NOT* the other way around.
