why get rid of the liquid cooler ?

and oh, ok ...even in a three screen setup ?

Performance with all in one liquid cooler isnt better, but if you primary buy it because of the look go for it ...
But i like the h100i /h 110 more..

You dont need 4gb vram
I like hd 7970 more, performance is better ...
Frctal define xl 2 is pn sale

liquid cooling doesnt get good until you go custom. thats about it

yes. its not like the 4gb doesnt help, but the 670 or 680 cant use it properly making it barely better and in some cases worse

ok ill drop it down. Im also looking for a mobo that has 2 (x16) video card slots for SLI ...would this even make a difference ? any ideas? ...i like all the other specs of the one i found just i dont want the video cards slowing down to 8x

GIGABYTE GA-Z77X-UD5H LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

what do you guys think of that one?

-change the ram to the crucial ballistix sport. its cheaper and it does the same job
-not much point of getting the ud5h. the ud4h has everything
-save money on the CPu cooler by using a phanteks tc12dx for 49.99. performs only a little less but is way cheaper
-the xfx is a better unit than the evga.
-the 840 sucks compared to the plextor m5s 128gb for 86.99
-the non-window R4 is 30 bucks cheaper. not worth the cash

what voltage should i go with? on ram...what is the failure rate? (on the ssd)<- just looked it up switching it in now :)

I gotta say, unless you need cuda acceleration or are going for a multi-gpu setup, an AMD GPU will likely get you better performance at your price point. a gigabyte 7970 (non factory OC'ed) can be overclocked to 1100/1150 mhz pretty easily, at which point it outperforms a 680 which is 100-150 dollars more expensive.

however, if you'd like to tweak the voltage, a sapphire is better. plus, the 7970 will actually use it's extra gig of v-ram, which at your resolution will be needed desperately.

amd will perform better but then their runt frame issue isnt completely resolved. and as for 1080p "desperately needing" vram is a joke. extra vram isnt really useful until you go to 1440p

im a Nvidia fan...i had bad experiences with AMD cards...

uh regarding the MOBO's because the computer is under budget (as in i have left overs) im going to get the UD5H

just a bit more future proofing...I also like the idea of mSATA ...

should i get better fans? and i switched the MOBO to the Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD5H aswell as added a Crucial M4 64GB mSATA Solid State Disk

thoughts? should i go smaller on the mSATA...or do i even NEED one ..?

ps why is the cost different on the actual part picker site?

Base Total: $1523.07
Promo Discounts: -$43.99
Mail-in Rebates: -$30.00
Total: $1449.08

thats what they say.. but the bb code is different ...
