I have a budget of $1000 area and I am looking to build a gaming rig and was having trouble looking for the right parts. I don't mind intel or amd just looking for a good build to play 1080p games with good fps and I have a 144hz monitor. Any suggestions on builds?
MERGED QUESTION Question from jplums99 : "AMD pc parts"
I was wondering if this pc build would be good for a first build. let me know if I should change anything. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/kCk4J8
1. Major usage? As detailed as possible
2. Max budget?
3. On the list, major issues is ram speed too slow, Ryzen thrives with fast ram, 16 gb is more suitable for your budget.
The only major concern I'd have would be the quality of the power supply. That unit is "ok" but it's not the kind of quality you probably want to pair with a build of this quality and expense. You'd do much better with a Seasonic Focus plus or Prime unit, or an EVGA G3. Even a Corsair TX or RM would be better than the CX.
You might also want to look at higher speed memory, as Ryzen tends to really respond to faster memory but I'd also try to make sure that I stick with modules that are verified by users, which mostly include those shown at the following link. Optimally, you want sticks using Samsung B-die ICs (Memory chips) as well. 3000-3200mhz seems to be the peak and common speed of choice for most Ryzen configurations.
