My friend wants to build a new computer for herself and is looking for help in choosing parts. She prefers Intel and NVIDIA and her price range is around $1500. She already chose a case, Hyte Y70 Touch, which is already ~$390. What parts can she get for a pretty average PC with the remaining $1110?

Your friend wants to build a PC.

To do what? Primary and secondary purposes?

She may be better off spending "a lot" on the CPU and "not so much" on the video card.

Or vice versa.

Depending on the purposes.

Have her tell you and then you tell us.

$390 is a major extravagance for a case. But if she insists....................

How soon does she want to buy? Within a week? A month? This year?

If she choose amd cpu, she could get a much higher Nvidia gpu. In AM5 platform mobo & cpu price has dropped significantly.
That is not correct, it is still cheaper to go with an Intel build than an AMD build if you use AM5.

Okay, let's say we do choose AMD for CPU and keep NVIDIA for GPU. What CPU, MB, and RAM do you recommend?
Here are a couple recommendations with and without the needless 400 dollar case. Spending nearly 1/3rd of your budget on a case is not something you should do with a mainstream budget. Here are a couple recommendations regardless:

So she wants a white motherboard. Do you have a recommendation for the 14600K? I doubt she'll be overclocking, so would choosing a B series board be okay with an unlocked CPU?

And while we're at it, do you think the 14600K requires a AIO or is an air cooler sufficient enough. She would also like a white version of this as well...

B series is completely fine with a 14600k, however, you have to be mindful of the cheaper motherboards because some of them wont handle the 14600k with their poor VRMs. The motherboard I linked is silver/white over the majority of the board. Spending so much on aesthetics is not recommended, however here is a decent board that is white.

Again....purposes of this machine??

If "gaming", tell us what games at what settings.

If gaming is not primary purpose, say so.

For white motherboards, look at Gigabyte Aorus Elite "Ice" series. There are several for Intel and I think some for AMD.

Some are Intel B series, some are Intel Z series.

Prices begin around 200.

I think you can find decent power supplies in white also, RAM too.

If she wants to go strictly for a white theme.

Air cooler is fine on a 14600K. You could replace a black fan with a white fan if you can't find a cooler that comes with a white fan.

Not sure about white power supplies. Probably are some.
Check that build i linked at the bottom of my last post. We think alike!

Yeah; that's a good choice. Never owned one, but looks OK with a good feature set.

There are B series variants of Ice.

And micro ATX Ice also.

If she is willing to wait on Arrow Lake, Ice boards have been announced.
I have not seen a single B760 version ICE motherboard that is ATX on the gigabyte website. Can you link one?

I may have spoken too soon....off the top of my head, confusing micro ATX with B.

I'll look again.

Meanwhile, here is the Z890M Aorus Elite............micro ATX. I downloaded the manual and have this board under consideration for my own build.

The Ice variant was listed at Newegg pre-order for 240 a couple of days ago. I was surprised because the black version was not.

Sorry I forgot to reply to your post. The main use of the PC would be gaming at 1080p I believe.

LGA 1700 is dead & 13-14 th gen's instability issue . Then why should anyone buy a intel right now.For a 1000$ built i think 80+ bronze 750w is enough. because with an amd cpu & 4060ti total power consumption is around 500w unless you use a intel cpu now. Why should anyone waste money on useless things, with that money i rather choose a higher component for my built. RIP intel fans.

This is what I have so far and it's around $1500. Please let me know if there are some things I should change.

Solid choice if you prefer Asrock. Go for it. Don't listen to intel fan boys Lga 1700 socket is dead & 13-14 gen high-end cpu's are doomed. With an Am5 Amd will support untill 2030. You can also upgrade the cpu with the 7800x3d (absolute beast) when the price would drop. Enjoy your pc. I bought my my new one 2 months ago.
I am no Intel fanboy, but for the money right now nothing beats the 14600k and with all the mitigation updates to BIOS they should be fine. Check my signature, I am currently on a 5800X3D I bought the day it released because I had faith the technology was amazing and it is. As far as all the questions, I stand firm on my recommendations. Never cheap out on the PSU. A Corsair CX will save you 10-20 dollars over a top tier PSU that will not give you issues like a CX can...
Spending an additional 500 or so dollars on aesthetics like the Case, AIO that is barely better than an air cooler, the SSD that is 50% more expensive for its capacity than others, paying at least 40 dollars extra for an all white motherboard, and an extra 20 dollars for RGB RAM. If aesthetics were thrown out the window you could get something with much more performance or a ton more storage.
