price: £1576.81

Thanks for reading :)

regarding the storage;
SSD FOR GAMES
WD_BLACK SN750 1TB High-Performance NVMe Internal Gaming SSD:

HDD FOR STORAGE
Crucial MX500 1 TB:
you will notice no improvement for game loading using NVMe M.2 drive vs a decent 2.5" SATA SSD.
if you can find a larger 2.5" drive for a similar price, go for that.
1TB will fill up pretty fast with the size of modern games.

and the Crucial is not an HDD, it is an SSD.
if you're looking for something just for personal file storage, backups, etc;
you should look more into an external 8TB HDD or something similar.
portability with personal files and media files can be a huge plus.
I don't know if I should get an m.2 just for the OS for faster boot.
i would probably be looking into a ~500GB M.2 for OS & applications.

my goal would be;
a >/= 480GB M.2 for OS & apps,
a 2-4TB 2.5" SATA SSD for games,
a >6TB external drive for personal storage & backup.

You have a Z490 board for a 11th gen cpu which isn't the best option. If you want to run an unlocked 11th gen cpu then I suggest a Z590 board.

Here's a few options to consider.

No difference in FPS for Intel's 10th & 11th gen cpu's between 4400Mhz RAM and 3600 Mhz RAM not to mention it's a lot easier to set your timings with 3600 vs 4400.

Try this.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Crucial-Ballistix-BL2K8G36C16U4B-Desktop-Gaming/dp/B083V93HJG/
Crucial Ballistix DDR4 3600MHz Desktop Gaming Memory Kit, 16GB (8GB x2) CL16 £109.60

And if you'd like to save a few more quid while achieving similar performance then I suggest this route. This board will allow you to run either of these cpu's with the power limits turned off in the bios. It's a round a bout way of OC these cpu's.

Here's a review of that cpu w/benchmarks.

Here's a better look at that board.

Thank you two so much, I really appreciate the replies and suggestions! :) I've selected some storage drives and added both of your suggestions to the build.
I don't know exactly if I wanna go for an i5 or i7. Is the difference mainly more multi task capabilities with the i7?
I do have a GPU right now that I could use temporarly in this build it's an MSI 1060 6GB.

Here are the storage drives I went for:
WD Blue SN550 1TB High-Performance M.2 Pcie NVMe SSD [OS and APPS]:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/WD-Blue-SN...419152031&sourceid=Mozilla-search&sr=8-3&th=1

WD Blue 3D NAND Internal SSD 2.5 Inch SATA - 2 TB [GAMES]:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Western-Di...nts=p_72:419153031&rnid=419152031&sr=8-3&th=1

WD 4 TB Elements Portable External Hard Drive - USB 3.0 [PERSONAL STORAGE]:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/WD-Element...s=external+hdd+4tb&qid=1623282462&sr=8-3&th=1

and also swapped the case
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Be-Quiet-BG011-Aluminium-Chassis/dp/B01H6JQAJ2

would a 3080 be completely overkill or be worth it for 1080p 144hz/240hz gaming and future proofing.

that's an insane price for the be quiet! Dark Base 900.
their newer Silent Base 802 is a much better case with much better options for less than half of that:
https://www.bequiet.com/en/case/2047
i would guess that since they're coming from Germany you could find much better prices over there without the overseas shipping?
would a 3080 be completely overkill or be worth it for 1080p 144hz/240hz gaming and future proofing.
"future proofing" is difficult.
besides considering how game engine technology may increase,
you also need to consider how your own preferences may evolve.
being stuck at 1080p for years in the future would seem like a pretty bad idea to me. seemed like a bad idea to me ~4 years ago.

the RTX 3080 is the lowest card i would be shooting for, especially if you want it to keep up with the most demanding games for more than a few years.
but i'm always hoping to play things with the highest settings, at higher frame rates, and at higher resolutions.

my current RX 6700 XT is closer on par with the RTX 3070 and it can barely hit 80fps with the most demanding games @ 3440x1440p.
@ 1920x1080 i'd imagine you'd be quite a bit closer to 100fps, but maxing out a 144Hz display might not be possible with the 3070.

idk if it's worth 45 to have the cpu blacked out wdyt
also i'm not sure about the fitting and the space between the cpu cooler and gpu
I don't know which aftermarket brand gpu to get either, which is more reputable i suppose

on a higher quality ATX or EATX board,
there will be plenty of space vertically between the Noctua NH-D15 and the PCIe slot for a large GPU.

concerning 3rd party GPU manufacturers;
most make pretty reliable versions with high quality coolers.
the current state of GPU availability limits your options though.
instead of hand picking a certain version, these days you will take whatever comes available and live with any downside to it or most likely be stuck with nothing.

noice! This might be a bit off topic but is it possible to sort stuff in documents. I don't wanna sort it and then mess anything up.

but is it possible to sort stuff in documents. I don't wanna sort it and then mess anything up.
right-clicking on the columns(Name, Date Modified, etc) will give you options to add\remove columns.
then clicking on these individual columns will allow sorting by that attribute.

or right-clicking in the middle of the folder will call up the option to "sort by" a particular attribute.

you can always change which it is sorted by.

Ok ty! I'll do occasional streaming of games so idk which cpu to go for and if it will be worth the money

i7 if you plan on streaming. Pair it up with a H570/B560 board.

eh.... soooooo you are building a PC for a game that launch in 4 months, from which theres no independent performance testing to see yet, and that it does not even have official system requirements (not that this last ones mean anything lately).

Anyways my two cents.

  1. If you are going to stream using the built-in funcionality on nvidia GPUs (+OBS for example), then the core i5 should be enough (keep in mind this is using my crystal ball cause the game is not even in beta yet)
  2. I would really not waste money on any "K" intel 11 gen CPU. You wont get a lot more performance with or without OC. Overclocking is not as good as to say 9th gen or prior, not worth it (for me). In fact between the i5 11600K and for example a i5 11400(non-K) I would get the last one, or an i7 11700.
  3. Try to balance what you spend on mobo+cpu+ram with the money you need for a GPU to run the game at 1080p@144Hz, when in doubt put more money on the GPU. For example, you wont get a lot more performance from a 4400MHz RAM kit (if you get any noticable performance increase at all), when a 3600MHz is cheaper.
Then again, is your money and as other mention before in some case you may be buying what you can get.

Yea I understand, just wanna have a decent experience playing the game and being able to stream it as well. It's probably gonna be 3060 or 1060 minimum gpu and idk the cpu but probably some i5 (k).

The cpus listed by @Why_Me are both non (k) so that's alright, I wasn't thinking of getting a (k) cpu just one that has good price to performance. I can't find a website that shows benchmarks and clear differences in performance for both single and multi core tasks it either has one or the other which is a little bit annoying.

I just don't want it to be in anyway messy or stuttering when streaming the game at 1080p 60fps, I have the internet speed/upload speed to stream. It's a big price increase for an i7 just wanted to know if it's absolutely worth it for a bit more multi tasking capability and is it really needed unless you have 10 tabs open at a time lol. The most tabs I'd have open would be spotify the game and maybe a youtube video and 3 other tabs like guides etc...

Ok, sounds good. I'm looking again at cases and chose this because of airflow and it being quiet; it's a Be Quiet Pure Base 500DX Black, Mid Tower ATX case and it looks tight. Especially with ASUS TUF GAMING H570-PRO mobo shroud for the inputs and height, width and depth of the Noctua NH-D15 chromax.black cooler.
Solid choices. ^^

You can save yourself a few quid with this cpu cooler.

I have usually 10 tabs or more open while playing (including youtube, mail, etc), plus some PDF, discord, and every now and then MSI Afterburner, I sometiems could be streaming using discord too, and I never saw my Ryzen 5 3600 (6 cores / 12 threads) been fully utilized.

Of course if you can go with the Core i7, I would said go ahead, but if its way more expensive than the Core i5, then I would rather put more money on the GPU instead.

Well hope you enjoy the game when its out!

And I agree with Why_Me those case, mobo and cooler are solid choices, the Scythe Fuma 2 is great too!
