I am putting a PC Build together for a friend. I am not sure what motherboard to get him. His budget is $900. I want to put a Hyper 212 on it. And I am thinking about going with a Xeon E3 1241 V3, and then get an SSD. He already has RAM sticks, so no, I did not forget the RAM. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/tQwLNG

You desperately need a better power supply than Corsair CX series.

The reason I said the Xeon instead of the 4690K, it is essentially the 4690K with a bigger either L2 or L3 cache, I forget, and hyperthreading. Same clock rate. Same architecture. And only like $260.

That cant be overclocked.
You will need to add the 2 from my earlier post I would also consider switching to a GTX 970 they put out less heat.

Archaic, my friend doesn't plan on over clocking, do you think you could maybe get the build you made with the 4790 that is closer to $900? And again. He isn't planning on over clocking, so the mobo just has to be good, but not necessarily for overclocking. Thanks.

Stick with Xeon if not overclocking. Don't need Hyper 212 either. If you get 4790 (non K) you'll be paying extra $30 for iGPU that you don't need. 4790 can use same H97 board as Xeon.
- 4790 turbo = 4.0Ghz. $295
- Xeon turbo = 3.9Ghz. $264
- 4790K turbo = 4.4Ghz. $329
