[SOLVED] PC Build Recommendation

So, here's my current PC that I'm currently on:

-Intel Pentium G4400
-NVIDIA GTX 1050 2GB
-GLOWAY(?) 2x4 GB
-WD BLUE 1TB HDD
-BIOSTAR H110MH PRO D4
-1STPLAYER 500W PSU (I think it's some low quality PSU)

I'm planning to upgrade my PC with i5-9400F + ASUS's GTX 1070 Dual OC edition.
I need help on the other components recommendation.
Also I don't have that much of a budget to afford other components.
Any tips?

What’s the budget?

You need to get a decent quality psu before anything else. Your current psu is a hazard. For a 9400F you will need a new motherboard. What speed is yours RAM although you probably want to replace it with a 2x8gb kit anyway. Is this pc just used for gaming?

I only got around 150-200$ (I could save my money for some time, if I have to)

The RAM is 2400 MHz, and yes its for gaming only.

Id go Ryzen. Look at a good quality B450 motherboard, R5 2600 and new psu (must get a new psu). Then in future upgrade the RAM and add an SSD. As you are going to need a new motherboard anyway I see no reason to go with an i5 when Ryzen is better.

Your psu is a hazard, I would not use it at all, ever. An i5 9400F needs a new motherboard, it’s not compatible with a H110 board. So you need minimum a new cpu & motherboard. As Ryzen offers better value for money than any i5 you might as well switch.

However your RAM is slow and for modern gaming you really want 16gb. It’s not an essential upgrade but highly recommended so can be done later. Finally any modern pc should have an SSD for its main drive, it will make the whole machine feel and load so much faster, but this can wait if primary aim is better gaming experience.

I don’t know what’s on offer where you are but I’d look for an MSI B450 Tomahawk (Max or not) and pair with an R5 2600 of R3600 if budget allows.

As for PSU the Corsair CX550 or 650 are ok quality and usually well priced. There are better and these are as low quality wise as I would go for a gaming pc.

Yes that’s a really nice base system to work with and even gives you some future upgrade options for cpu if you wanted.

If you go R5 2600 then 2x8gb 3000mhz would be ideal. If you go R5 3600 then 2x8gb 3000 to 3600mhz RAM would be good.

The 2000 series sometimes struggles to go over 3000mhz so paying for RAM that can go higher may not be worth it. If 3000mhz and 3600mhz are the same price you can buy the 3600, worst case is you end up running it at 3000.

The 3000 series will have no problem running 3600mhz on a good B450 board.
