PC Build Under $2,000

Since I am inexperienced with building a PC, I would like to ask the community for a build that will meet my standards. All at or under the budget of $2000.

Main purposes of this PC:
- 3D modelling and rendering
- Video gaming

What I already have:
- Operating System
- Mouse
- Keyboard
- Monitor (1920 x 1080)

For gaming I'd like to propose Battlefield 4 on Ultra, 1080p, with ~50 FPS avg. as a benchmark. Though I don't know if this will help.

Try this https://pcpartpicker.com This website should help you figure it out. I would you suggest you start with an ATX mobo as they're probably the easiest to build with and a bitfenix shinobi case. If you get a GTX 770 or better at least a strong i5 processor you should be in the clear to get what you're looking for and you could do for a lot less than 2 grand. I built mine for 1200 and it does what you're asking. However, do the research yourself don't trust people on hear completely people will tell you to buy all kinds of stuff you don't need. Save yourself some money and head ache and do the research. That pcpartpicker website will keep you from making major compatibility mistakes. Give it a try. My buddy just built his pc using it and has no IT background. Of course he called me like 20 times in 2 days, but it was mostly reassuring him.

You're gonna want more than an i5 for 3d modeling. This has the 780 and will max out BF4 for you at 60+ fps, and the rest of the build gives you the option to add a second 780 in the future if you want:

To clarify my build above, I have the dual WD Blacks for storage needs, as I don't know how much you need. And I definitely would recommend a WD Black for your budget, as they are faster and more reliable.

You also want an i7, especially with this budget. You will DEFINITELY see the difference while rendering and modeling.

You also want to get a much nicer PSU than a 500w from EVGA, as that's not a very quality unit.

The SSD is not needed, of course, but at this budget, you'll want one. It'll make the computer boot much faster, and make all your programs open and work much faster as well.

With your budget, you don't want to skimp and get lower quality parts. My build above will last you a good long while.

Your build helped a lot. I removed one of the HDD's and I'd prefer to have an SSD there as well. Also, I went with a standard ATX motherboard, and switched the 780 for a 780 Ti.

All looks great to me. The HERO is a great, quality board if you've got the budget for it.

Full size ATX works, I tend to just start with mATX, as most people will never fill 5 expansion slots, let alone 8 lol

Gonna be a hell of a build! You'll definitely get great results in BF4 with that

There's nothing wrong with your build, and if I implied that I apologize. I was simply wanting to share that for the modelling and rendering side, he'll want as much CPU power as possible. The i5 is a great CPU (have one myself) but it gets crushed by the i7 in that department.
