[SOLVED] Pc build with gtx 1660 super

Hello there!...I just recently bought an 1660 super gaming oc and an 1440p monitor 144hz....my specs are intel core i5 l, asrock h170m pro4s, 2×4gb ram corsair gddr4 2133mhz and 650w corsair psu....and I want to game at 1440p 144hz ultra to most modern games with over 60 fps with out bottleneck...so if you could help me understand witch parts of my build should be changed to achieve that l, I want the best quality I can get for the money and I have almost 300 euros to spare, thanks in advance any help appreciated!

which processor are you using? otherwise specs look pretty good, maybe more RAM if you really want to spend on something.

You wont be gaming at 144hz 1440 Ultra with a 1660 Super in most titles. Games like Doom sure, and other titles like Overwatch you could get 144 on High settings.


As far as the rest of your system, a good option would be a Ryzen 3600, B450 Motehrboard such as the MSI Tomahawk MAX or Gaming Plus MAX and 16GB of DDDR 3600mhz RAM.

But I think my motherboard supports up to 7 generation cpus

Yes, just be sure its a dual channel kit, so the kind of RAM sold a two 8GB sticks. As far as upgrading now or waiting that's up to you. Your current i5 is probably ok for most games still but newer games are starting to use 6 and even 8 cores more effectively so in those your i5 is holding you back.
