Good evening, I need help with building my new pc - i will keep my old gpu - gtx 660. In the new build i would go with a FX 8300 with better board and cooling and i would oc it to atleast 4,5ghz ... I am a supporter of AMD, as well as im AMD currently using and indeed I always used AMD but I would buy Intel - of course if it is more powerful. I would go there with i5 6500 and some cheaper board, since i5 is more expensive than the FX 8300. In i5 im not sure because I think that in the future 4 cores wont be enough - if I'm wrong, so sorry. PC should serve primarily for gaming, render, fast multitasking and maybe streaming. Again with Intel's new socket 1151 is advantage - that is probably a better investment in the future .. I do not know what would have more power if oced FX 8300 or skylake i5..

For now i choosed:
CPU: FX 8300 / i5 6xxx
moba: AMD: something with 970 / 990FX / intel idk
RAM: 1x 8 gigabytes
Case Zalman Z1 neo
PSU Zalman ZM600-lx
HDD: 1TB

How would be FX 8300 4.5 / 4.8GHz compared i5 Skylake?

If you have better build for the money, please post it here,thanks.. I am currently running fx 6300, 4.1ghz - there would be a large increase in performance? thanks. Sorry for my english. Thanks in advance.

It would perform similarly to a Skylake i3. The i5 is easily your best choice. If you already have a FX6300, the 8350 would not be much of an upgrade. You could maybe wait a few more months for AMD to release their new cpu line Zen if you really want to support AMD. For now, I don't recommend their FX line for anything.

Would be the i5 a huge improvement? I saw a video where the overclocked fx 8300 - 4.7ghz had same fps as the i7 4790..maybe 5 fps difference..how is that possible?

i5 6400 is for 170€ here...what do u think?

It would be a huge improvement. Just remember, you'd need a new motherboard AND DDR4 RAM.

Of course, 450€ is more than enough to upgrade only your cpu, motherboard, and RAM. I was thinking you needed an entire build but video card for 450€.

I need cpu, gpu, case, ram and psu ... Im just curious about cpu which to take..but probably the i5 if its really that good.

It seems getting an i5 is realistic.

Thank you...yes,it seems like that. And just one another question..do you think that i5 is good cpu to the future?
