I have a gigabyte GA 78LMT usb3 with ddr3 ram and an amd fx 4300 (amd 3+). Im trying to find a new motherboard thats both compatable with my ram, cpu and graphics card (Zotac 1070 mini) with 2 SLC support any suggestions on what i should buy?

Solution
To be honest the FM3+ platform is weak, any cpu on that platform will hold back a GTX1070 @ 1080p and probably even if running 1440p. If you want to allow your 1070 to meet it’s full potential it is time to move to a modern platform but that will require a new motherboard/RAM/CPU.

You could look at older Intel setups that support DDR3, this would allow you to reuse your RAM but you will need a new motherboard. However I don’t recommend this as you are investing in already outdated hardware.
^^what the man said.

Not a popular answer from me, but you could also consider selling everything and upgrading to something decent, like Ryzen 2.

After all, you have 1070 mini, and this card is *heavily* bottlenecked by your (extremely weak) CPU. Even CPUs twice as powerful aren't able to fully utilize its potential.

Don't waste the money.

You're significantly bottlenecking that 1070. That platform is beyond dead. Spending money on a new motherboard for it is lighting it on fire. What do you mean by 2 SLC support?

You can get yourself into a new Ryzen 3 with 8gb of DDR4 and motherboard for under $300 which would be an astronomical improvement.
