So, I am currently planning on building a new PC for gaming + streaming and light to moderate content creation so ill get the the point.

These are the components I am looking at:
MSI gtx 970 4g (already own from previous computer)
i7 4790k processor
asus z97-a motherboard
16 gbs (2x8) ripjaws
Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo Processor cooler
an 250g ssd for boot and a 4tb wd blue for mass storage

as for case and psu that's where I am most in need of assistance. My current computer is a Dell Precision T7500, but it is second hand refurbished so the processor is pretty bad, hence why i am upgrading. The psu in the case is 1000W, so i was wondering, could i just keep the case and psu and just buy the other parts, or is it best just to go ahead and start right from scratch?

Thanks for reading this and any input for any parts of my build would be great!!

Thanks!!
M

Personally, i would start from scratch. I would recommend you to get the Cryorig H7 cooler. It's cheap and great quality.

The PSU may be low quality. Could you tell me the model of the PSU the manufacturer and the model?
Additionally, it's more of a hassle to use cases from a prebuilt build.

A Fractal Design R5 is a great elegant case. The following PSU's are great for your build:
XFX TS 550W
Seasonic M12II 520W
EVGA GS 550W
Antec HCG 520W

The psu its made by dell as well, just their own in build psu im assuming. when I was looking it up before to see its wattage and specs and stuff for when i was getting my graphics card earlier it would just come up with the whole computer.

No reason specifically, I'm really looking to spend about 700-800 dollars in total, not including the graphics card because i already have one. Would you recommend a different processor?

from a purely monetary stand point, i think i would have to stick with the 4790k because with the other two wouldn't i have to buy ddr4 ram? as well as a more expensive motherboard to accommodate them. Plus if i can save a little on the processor and motherboard ill use it to buy a better microphone and camera for streaming.

in relation to the rest of the build do you have any critique or input? it's my first personal build and i just want to get some outside opinions.
