The current situation is that I am only able to use the onboard graphics through a single VGA cable, the HDMI ports do not respond. As well as, the GPU (GTX 1080 STRIX) is rendered completely useless as I cant install new drivers, comes up with the compatibility error from Nvidia, and the GPU also doesn't appear in the Device Manager. There is an unknown device, which I searched up the Hardware ID of and it came up with this: " ACPI\VEN_PNP&DEV_0A0B ACPI\PNP0A0B *PNP0A0B" which from what I found is mobo related. I also deleted GPU Tweak, as before doing so it came up with a message: "Load vender.dll failed. Please install VGA driver" which I can only assume is the motherboards VGA driver, and after updating nothing changed.

Things I have also done:
*Delete old drivers to try to reinstall new ones - no luck
*Changed the PCI-E slot of the GPU - no effect still came up with the same errors
*Updated all drivers for the motherboard (which is a Z170-A)

So in the end, I really don't know what else to do. As of now, I'm wondering if it's better to get a new motherboard or a replacement if possible as I seriously cannot find any fix to this, so all help is appreciated.

Solution
Looks like a faulty GPU. Try to use your GPU on a different PC just to be sure. Also try a different GPU on your motherboard just in case to know whether its the motherboard's fault.

After taking srimasis' advice, I put the GPU into another PC and sure enough, the exact same results occurred, narrowing down the only culprit to be the GPU - thanks for the help.
