Pc cant show proper graphic memory

hiiiiiii frnds this is aakash
i have brought a new g-card
nvidia geforce 9500gt 1gb but iam very confused by buying it.
after installing it , the graphic memory shown by my pc is only 512mb
and it is not supported by win vista 32bit or win 7 32bit.
plz give me some tips .

Check with GPU-Z the graphics memory and use CPU-Z for the system memory.
Install the Nvidia drivers along with the operating system. That's all it should take.
