Alright so i've been a console gamer all my life but have been getting more and more interested in joining the PC community. I have very little PC knowledge but understand the basic components of a computer i would hope to be able to build it with a experienced friends help to save a little money.

However i want a PC that would be capable of running games at ultra high. While also being capable of running programs like Photoshop, Premiere Pro, After effects etc. I would also need to upgrade my current monitor as it has no HDMI inputs however i have a very average keyboard and mouse which could probably make do for a month or two.

My budget is probably around (AUD) $1500 but could maybe spend a little more here and there, With that in mind what sort of graphics would i be capable of achieving? i can imagine 4k is probably out of the picture but what about anything more than 1080p? as i would really like to see a difference between my console.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi there! I myself am building a PC and I don't know too much but I think I may be able to help here. From what I have learned, you will have to have 32GB of RAM to have your programs like Photoshop and Premiere Pro. If you wait a couple months the price in RAM may go down so it may be worth it.

You will also want a CPU that can handle the video editing and gaming you want to do. A Ryzen 7 1700 would be a good choice 8cores/16threads. Or maybe an i7 from Intel if you would prefer. However if that doesn't fit your budget I would suggest the Ryzen 5 1600.

I think you should have either a 1060 6GB or 1070 GPU from Nvidia. That should allow you to run games on high to ultra on something around 1440p maybe even 2K. About your monitor, it...

About your monitor, it would probably need an upgrade if you want to run 1440p or 2K but if you're OK with 1080p for a while there is no need to upgrade it to get a HDMI port. DVI-D or Display Port would be fine.

A build like this might suit you:

I tried my best to get it to fit your budget, but it was a challange I may have gone a tad over.

Good Luck and I hope I helped!
