PC Case/ Power Supply Suggestions

I have decided to upgrade my PC some.I am planning to get a new case, and a new PSU.I have narrowed down my case options down to 2.The NZXT Tempest Evo, and the Cooler Master HAF 922.I was wondering which of one of these cases are better in your opinion.For my PSU I am still looking, but I was looking at the Corsair CMPSU-850HX.Any help would be appreciated.Thanks.

id like the HAF most out of those two cases. very nice case.

PSU wise, i always recomend corsair. IMO theyr are the best PSUs on the market without spending silly money. are you palling on going crossfire/SLI? 850w is alot.

Yep. Single video card - a 550VX is plenty. For most double card installations, something like a 750 TX is enough.

Really?I was getting ready for a new GPU, and I wasn't sure what kind of power I would need.Should I go with a lower wattage PSU?

Well HAF922 for me too. If you are not going for an SLI setup then 850W is over kill! If yes, Then its fine. I also prefer Corsair. Almost all of their models are reliable. With Corsair you can do little homework and wont be wrong!

Hah! That Corsair 850 could run like 4 graphic cards.

The 450w is capable of most single card setups, and the 650w is capable of most dual GPU setups. The only real reason for more than that is if you are overclocking everything too?

The corsair website has a calculator you can try out-- its pretty conservative so you can probably go with what it says.

p.s. I love corsair. everyone does. buy stock lol.

I am running games at 1920x1200.Is a single card good enough, or should I run SLI?I have a 650W PSU, but it's not the best.

HD5870. That's enough with a VX550W.

Well the latest nVidia is card GT300 is set to come out god knows when. so if you are willing to wait on their deadlines then go ahead. If you want to buy one now, then HD5870 is the one.

Antec is another reliable brand; all of their Earthwatts, Truepower New, and Signature PSUs have received excellent technical reviews; even the 500W Basiq performed very well (but is not 80+, so I'd pass on it). Seasonic (which makes some of the Antecs) is also good. Many of these companies' offerings are semi-modular, which will reduce cable clutter especially if you're not running multiple cards. Also, a lot of them are 80+ bronze.

HX750 is modular and is more expensive.
TX750 is the non nodular one. So cheaper.

Modular one's are for better cable management. You can attach the wires you need and use accordingly.

Non-modular PSU's are the one's we are used to, which come with all the bulk wires attached to the PSU body.

Last question.Will a Cooler Master HAF 922 be big enough for a hd5870?

If in future the cards start becoming bigger like the HD5970, then i guess nothing less than a full tower would do. But in your case the HD5870 would contain a HD5870 neatly.

I just realized I have a Nvidia chipset Mobo, will this be a problem with an ATI card?

yes the 1200 is a beast. and a very good case. probably the best full tower you can buy.

HAF932 or Antec 1200.
You may also give Lian Li a try. They are the best money can buy but for model numbers wait for someone. I have never used it, so cant comment on it.
