Over the last day or 2 my Pc randomly freezes and makes a terrible noise! Doesn't matter if I'm gaming or watching YouTube, it will happen, normally 30mins to an hour after a restart.

I know my mobo is giving up a bit as 2 dimm slots went working and 2 ish ports are also on their way out.

So before I go ahead an get a new mobo, I just want to find out if that could be the problem or not.

Pc specs:
i7-4790k
Msi Z87 - g43 gaming
GALAX gtx 1080 exoc
8gb Crucial tactical tracer 1866mhz
2 × 275gb crucial m300 sad
1 x 1th wd blue
Antec tp750c 750w psu

this looks like a driver issues on your SATA/drive controllers. you mustve gotten these issues ever since the windows 10 updates. if MSI have a update utility for your drives, use that and download and install them. esp your chipset and sata controllers. just reinstall them even if you already have the latest version. driver reinstall would usually fix these windows updates lately after the creators updates.
can you open your case and the next time it does that sound can you put your ear close enough to know if its from your CPU cooler, GPU fan, or your PSU or your HDD? the freezes could be most likely caused by your RAM. or your harddisk is failing. or just the degrading mobo.

Sorry I should have stated. The noise is coming from my speakers. That last time it froze I had all the temps up amd all were dead normal for South African heat (cpu 30 - 40'c and gpu about the same)

it just freezes with no BSOD right? have you checked your Event Viewer logs? press winkey+s. type "event viewer". custom views. adminsitrative. and scroll down the times you force restart your PC. and look for something like a abnormal shutdown error. then we need to check the errors/warning that are occurring right before those times. not too far back. just a 1 mionute time span.

Would kernel-power be the force shutdown? There's a lot of appmodel runtime errors and event tracking errors

When it was happening last night, i thought a clean install would fix it, but it never, so the only apps i currently have installed are chrome, steam, discord, and nvidia drivers!

Chrome was the app being used to watch netflix off when it crashed

Bro your amazing. Did the windows update Monday and problems started Tuesday! Will reinstall drivers and see if that fixes everything! Thanks so much!

Hi I am also suffering from this issue and, I did indeed try this, I downloaded a tool called Live Update 6 by MSi to install the new drivers to fix this issue and I clicked scan to see what might need updating and it came up with a lot of stuff even new tools by MSi and I thought why not? And I checked all the boxes and installed everything that the software found, there were some stuff about Intel networks, something about USB devices and I thought nothing of it thinking that I was going to fix the problem and everything installed correctly (apart from Msi gaming app, an error came up with that so I skipped that installation) and then it instructed me to restart my pc so I did. And when my pc booted up to where I must enter my password. Not one USB device works, my keyboard, mouse, headphones, nothing works so I can't get by the login page and I've tried fixing it in a lot of different ways but nothing has worked so far. I did something wrong didn't I? I sound stupid but I've experience with computers and I rarely require help but I simply can't fix this one. I have a razer keyboard and mouse with LED's in them and these don't light up either if that means anything when normally they would.

UPDATE: I messed about in the BIOS a little bit and rebooted my system and the keyboard miraculously started working so I could log in to my pc then I tried unplugging my mouse and plugging it back in and it started working.
