Hey guys,
every once in a while my PC will completely freezer/lock up... the image still remains on all my monitors but is static and stuck on whatever i was last doing... the mouse cursor is not responsive and pressing ctrl-alt -delete doesnt bring up task manager so everything is frozen.
Normally I can just hold the power button in to force a shutdown then power it back up but tonight is the first time that hasn't worked and required me turning it off from the on/off switch at the back for the PSU.
I've tried looking at the critical logs and nothing shows up around the time it freezes at all, maybe it shows elsewhere but not a critical event.
PC isn't overheating and i've ran both stress tests on the GPU, CPU and RAM and all came back fine.... maybe a longer one than a few hours might have resulted in something happening but even if it did I'd be unsure if it was the stress or just a random occurrence like when it happens.
I've noticed it tends to happen most of the time when launching a game before the game reaches the load profile part.... this is most of the time but it has happened at other points also as far as I can remember.
Any ideas how to trouble shoot this ? Everything is up to the most recent updates.
If you need me to look anywhere and post anything just let me know and I'll grab it.
Thanks.
