Whether or not the game is graphically intense or not, my computer reboots after 5-10 minutes of gaming. The computer is well cooled and temperatures remain below 65 degrees at all times. There aren't any viruses or malware and my drivers are just recently updated.

Solution
sounds like a bad PSU unit. But I would try reconnecting all cables, reseating all ram and PCIe cards and see if that makes a difference. what type of power supply unit you have?

Would that make sense considering it only crashed when gaming?

My PSU is 650W

what "exact" power supply you have? the brand, and the model number if u can

yes actually it would. gaming stresses the power supply differently the say watching a video or web browsing....and depending on the game it may stress your PSU different then your other games. Could well be an early warning sign. But could be nothing to. As far as your PSU when i asked type i should have been more specific. make and model....

If it's not in the first two tiers of this list....get a new one. or if its a second tier one you had for 3+ years, get a new one. Not on the list? Find out what tier it is on googling..

It's a thermaltake Smart 650W,

"Built down to a low price. Not exactly the most stable units ever created. Very basic safety circuitry or even thin gauge wiring used. Not for gaming rigs or overclocking systems of any kind. Avoid unless your budget dictates your choice."

That might be the reason, yes.

how do I know if that's the reason for sure? or do I just have to buy a new one and hope it fixes the problem?

sadly you don't and one of the biggest reasons to always get a tier 1 PSU to begin with. It's possible that you get a new PSU and everything will run fine. It's also possible, if it was a bad PSU, that it did damage to your motherboard and components and things won't change at all. Buying a new PSU is the first place I would start if you reseated everything, reconnected wires, etc. The only other thing i can say might help would be to pull your motherboard completely out of the case and do a barebones build on static paper (a hard non-conductive surface like cardboard would suffice in a pinch but static paper covered would be best). then try using your machine and see if it still shuts down. This would eliminate the possibility of a short causing an issues after things warm up and expand (that 5-10 minutes of gaming). Even if it did "fix" things, I would still get a new PSU if I were you.
