hey everyone
i was asking my self if i needed to upgrade my pc.
i'm entring univerity and i'm gonna learn data base and programming, in c++ and java ee
and beside that i do gaming at 165hz fhd with my setup wich is
i5-8600k msi / z370 sli plus / 32 gb ram 3000mhz cl 16 / gtx 1080 asus strix oc / 4tb wd black / thermaltake Toughpower 750w gold
so i was telling my self like in gaming if i should go to the rtx 3060ti 3070 or 3080 or if i should upgrade my cpu between ryzen 5600x or 5900x
wich one gonna buy me more speed more rendering etc...more perf in game, i can only change one at these time cpu or gpu
or should i just keep my setup ?. :)

there won´t be a real performance boost if you upgrade the CPU.

even if i aim for a ryzen 5900x ?
so i should aim at gpu ?
also it not only gaming its also for my education and since i dont know anything about data base programing etc...i know already that 8600k is good but here in algeria buying components its like aiming for a car since i have enough money to upgrade one of those i was asking wich will make a true upgrade

You don't need to upgrade your current system to learn programming it is fine.
Just noticed no SSD if you want to upgrade get an SSD
The other upgrade I would suggest is buying a super reliable PSU
Sods law says when you have 2 days left to finish your project/assignment/coursework your PSU will die

i have a m.2 but its 128 gb only for windows
and what about gaming
i can change psu for a corsair one

What about gaming?
If the pc components you have currently do what you want them to do,you dont need to upgrade. If not see what is your bottleneck and we will go from there.
What corsair unit do you want to replace your current psu with?
the gtx 1080 is doing well but in some game it's starting to strugle to pass 60 fps not that much of games
but still
cpu is good i have nothing to say but if i upgrade for a 3070 will the bottleneck be big ?
and for psu

Corsair RM850x 80PLUS Gold
