Question Pc connects to router wifi but no internet access until router is very close

So this is weird. I have a pc in a room on the 2nd floor with a tplink wn723n adapter, basically my phone will connect to the router no matter where it is on the 1st or 2nd floor.
But the pc only connects to the wifi with "no internet access" until router is on the 2nd floor and ridiculously close to pc which ignores the whole point of a wifi connection.
I tried most solutions like driver update , flush dns , reset network settings...

what's the motherboard?
does it have external antennae that need to be connected to the rear I/O?
