Hello all.
For the past 5 months or so, my pc has been in a constant state of rebooting. Sometimes it will be fine for a week and other times it will turn on and off without me touching the power button. These are the things I have done to try and fix the issue, but have been unsuccessful.
-Reset cmos by removing battery (many times)
-Replace cmos battery all together
-Reset cmos with pins on motherboard (many times, sometimes successful but is a hit or miss)
-Flash the bios (did this twice)
-Remove the 1 stick of ram, then both
-Use a paperclip to test PSU, didnt seem to have an issue
-Remove all hard drives and the graphics card with only the cpu and psu plugged in
-Change where the the power cable was plugged in
-Remove all pc parts and the plug all of them back in
-Check temps/ if there is any overheating, there were no temps over 50
I personally thought it was a PSU problem, but I had no clue after I did the test on it. My psu isnt the best, but it has lasted for almost 3 years now. Im starting to think that its the motherboard at this point, as it seems all problems point towards it.
Specs:
i5 4670K
GTX 770
PSU: Corsair CX750M
MB: GA-Z87X-DH3
2 x 4 GB Corsair Vengeance Ram
Thanks in advance! If I do end up needing to replace some things, I would appreciate some suggestions bc i checked out of the PC world awhile ago.
