Hi all,
I have been getting a weird crash that I do not know how to fix. It has happened on two games, Witcher 3 and golf with friends so it does not happen during high loads, it is more random. It happens after a long time on the game, upwards of an hour. I lose signal to my monitor, my game closes but my pc continues running fine other than the monitor losing signal. I confirmed that my pc is running fine by using an app called Splashtop on my phone and remotely using it.
I have tried running monitoring programs in the background and everything seems fine. My cpu temps under load run about 60C and my gpu does not get pas 75C but it dissapears from msi afterburner after the crash. As soon as it crashes msi afterburner show the gpu temp at 0C and all other statistics relating to my gpu drop to 0 as well.
After i shut down my pc throught remote desktop control my pc turns on but does not boot up, my monitor stays off and there is a red light on my motherboard. I then proceed buy turning off my pc and switching off my psu, I then have to wait approximately 30-60 seconds and turn on my psu for my pc to be able to boot up. Also another problem I have noticed when booting up my pc after the crash is before booting up where the windows start up screen should show i get a black screen with a thick white section of pixels on it although this does not happen every time. I have also noticed when I underclock the core clock on the gpu the crash occurs much quicker usually about 5 minutes in.
Any help will be much appreciated.
My computer specs are:
EVGA GeForce GTX 970 Superclocked ACX 2.0 4GB
i5 4690k
ASUS Z97-A LGA1150
Kingston HyperX Fury 8GB Kit (4x4G) 1866MHz
Corsair RM750 750 Watt
Windows 10
