Hi Everyone,

I was hoping to get some guidance/advice for the issue I'm having.

I just recently had a friend build me a pc, and every time I play a demanding game, it crashes. It's worth noting that after a crash, the power button doesn't work, I have to manually switch the psu off/on to get the pc to turn back on. There are no warnings displayed before it crashes, it just turns off.

I can play games like PUBG fine on ultra settings, but newer games like Assassins Creed Odyssey and the Black Ops 4 Beta, its crashes, every time. Sometimes it will crash 5 minutes into a gaming session, and sometimes 45 minutes in.

Specs
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 2600X, with stock cooler.
Motherboard: Aorus ax370 Gaming 5
RAM: Vengeance LPX DDR4 3200MHz, 2x8GB
Power Supply: Corsair CX750M
Graphics Card: Aorus GTX 1080ti
Solid State Disk Drive: Samsung 960 EVO M.2
Operating System: 64bit Windows 10 Pro

Nothing is overclocked.

Steps I've Taken
Ran Aria64 stress test, PC did not crash.
Ran Memtest86 for a few Iterations, no errors found
Ran 3dMark, PC did not crash
Clean install of windows 10
Reinstalled all graphics drivers
Monitored Temps, during demanding games, even right before crashes, CPU sits at ~70C, GPU at ~75C

Does anyone have suggestion or a path forward I should take?

I appreciate any help,

Thanks,
Ian

I review anything before i buy it. When buying something brand new I search for Best (whatever im buying) 2018 then check those reviews again. Im not up to date on the best PSU's so I would do some research. Bestbuy has a 15 day return policy and some decent rated Corsair PSU's. Install it and see if it resovles your issues. If not then put it back in the box and return it before 15 days.

Also, another thing to look at is your motherboard. Open it up, look at all the caps and see if theyre swollen at the top or busted which would indicate motherboard damage.

If your ram is at 3200 speed on a ryzen system your ram is probably undervolted. Ram at that speed needs at least 1.35v and for some reason ryzen motherboards set the ram to 1.34ish volts and won't change when you enter 1.35v. If you set the ram voltage to 1.4v it will change to 1.39ish volts and you should not experience any more crashing in assassins creed odyssey or origins.
The power button not working during a pc crash is normal, you have to hold the power button down a bit for the pc to shut down when that happens.
