Hi, decided to make my first post here because this issue has been driving me nuts and I want to be able to pinpoint the root of the problem since these crashes seem to be pretty specific. Anyway, for several months now I've had this issue where when I'm either on desktop or chrome, my monitor would go black, audio is still working and applications are seemingly still running for a few seconds until it prompts a restart. These crashes are wildly inconsistent, sometimes my PC is fine for two weeks, and then suddenly the issue returns and my PC crashes twice in a single day.

There are slight variations of how the crashes occur, the most prominent one off the top of my head is where the monitor just completely freezes, applications are still open but I'm not able to do anything, so I have to forcefully restart or shut down my computer through the buttons on the case. Another type of crash I had but not as commonly is where my monitor would completely shut off whilst applications are still running in the background as well as audio, I think i recall not being able to close the applications meaning the cursor was frozen and whatnot, tried replugging the monitor but it didn't help, so i just forcefully restarted the computer.

The things i've tried so far are reinstalling GPU drivers, as well as installing the latest ones. And just recently installed new BIOS update, didn't help.

What is the make/model of your rtx3070?
Is your ram a single matched kit?

Modern graphics cards like the 3000 series can have occasional ultra high power spikes that not all power supplies can handle.
I might think that a more capable power supply would be in order.

ASUS KO RTX 3070 GAMING OC
Yes, RAM is a single matched kit.
I've had this PC for about 3 years now, only started experiencing these issues about 5-6 months ago so i'm not sure if I need a more capable power supply, but I could be wrong.

That's also a symptom of too low idle voltage on some components like CPU, RAM or GPU caused either by BIOS settings or PSU.
