Dear users of this forum.
I've had a long-term problem with my pc, it tends to crash my videocard drivers under certain types of load.
I have not been able to identify what load causes the crashes.
It doesn't occur when playing games such as valorant or rainbow six siege, but when i play escape from tarkov (a pretty pc heavy game) it does. (possibly heavy load issiues??)
I bought myself a new GPU today, got an RTX 2080ti for a good price off of a good friend of mine. Before, I had an RX580 8gb, which we always thought that was the problem. It was decently dated.
Tested it all out worked fine on valorant, started it up with tarkov and it messed itself up again.
It crashed on GTA V aswell but thats about a year back, still a heavy load game though.
It handles benchmarks such as Furmark's 1920x1080 MSAA 8x perfectly fine, so we know its probably not a GPU problem
Some clues as to what it can be:
When I blackscreen (its always temporary, 3-6s) an AMD driver timeout messagebox shows up (when i had amd)
When i blackscreen I had opera claim it ran out of memory. (ram issiue?)
When i switch the slots the ram is seated in (switch stick places, not different slots) it seems to dissapear for a small while (couple hours / day) (ram issiue again?)
Tarkov is known for its memory leaks aswell, might have something to do with the whole situation.
(why does it show up in speccy as 1329mhz??)
What i've tried:
New GPU.
DDU Graphics driver uninstall and fresh reinstall.
Switching ram slots (stick from slot 2 to 4, stick from slot 4 to 2.) (cant access 1-3, 1st slot blocked by cpu cooler)
Reinstalling windows.
Updating bios.
Please let me know as to what some good solutions are. I appreciate all your input.
Many thanks,
ex0.
