[SOLVED] PC crashes when gaming and multi-tasking ?

Hi my PC repeatedly crashes when gaming (mostly Elden Ring, FIFA 22, COD:MW, Witcher 3, AC Valhalla) even on the lowest settings or in a small resolution window. It will occasionally crash when I have many apps running for work such as teams or on Google Meet links, multiple chrome tabs/windows.

In the past when attaching an AIO I bent some pins in the corner of the CPU but was able to set them straight and the PC runs but I'm wondering whether this could be the problem ?

Nothing is overclocked in my system.

Here is my parts list:

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3800X 3.9 GHz 8-Core Processor
CPU Cooler: Corsair H100i RGB PLATINUM 75 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler
Motherboard: Asus TUF GAMING X570-PLUS (WI-FI) ATX AM4 Motherboard
Memory: Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3600 CL18 Memory
Memory: Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3600 CL18 Memory
Storage: Western Digital Blue SN550 1 TB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive
Storage: Sabrent Rocket Q 2 TB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive
Video Card: EVGA GeForce RTX 3080 10GB 10 GB XC3 ULTRA GAMING Video Card
Case: Fractal Design Meshify C ATX Mid Tower Case
Power Supply: Corsair RM (2019) 850 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply
Case Fan: Corsair iCUE QL120 41.8 CFM 120 mm Fans 3-Pack
Case Fan: Corsair iCUE QL120 41.8 CFM 120 mm Fans 3-Pack

I have done multiple stress tests and these are the results.
With Prime95 I have 5/8 cores return fatal errors in under 3 minutes, and another one returned fatal error within 15 minutes:

OCCT returns almost endless errors on multiple cores - I ran it for about 30m last time but the output was the same:

Temps - doesn't seem abnormal during OCCT stress test :

I'm not sure what else I can do to diagnose the problem. Please let me know if there's any other information such as BIOS info that could be helpful and I will provide it, or if I should just go ahead and replace the CPU.. basically just want to be able to game on this PC I've spent so much money on.

Thanks

They're the exact same model of RAM. Originally bought 16GB and then added another 16GB of the same ones.
Even then brands sometimes switch something in production while keeping the same name and nr for the ram. Like in this thread,

Should I try with one pair and then the other?
Yes, make sure you test a pair/kit that came with each other, look at the nrs on the stickers if you forgot which came together.
The voltages seem high for your cpu along with the temps. Have you tried lowering the voltages? And use a more aggressive fan/cooling setting to keep the temps closer to the 70's while gaming/running tests. See if this changes anything.
I've changed cooling settings from quiet to extreme for AIO pump, AIO fans, and case fans and will let you know how that goes.

The voltages are the default for the CPU - what do you recommend these be lowered to?

Thanks

Thanks - upping the cooling profiles to extreme has reduced the number of crashes although it still does occur.

Thanks - I will do this tomorrow night. Is the goal here to rerun the stress tests or to try gaming with one pair at a time?

While it does sound like a RAM issue to me initially, I very highly doubt mixing kits that are the same exact brand and model, especially if they are the same speed, is the issue. I have 4 different RAM kits (1 stick from 4 different kits) on XMP profile to 3000 MHz for the last year+. Never a single issue relating to RAM. Now, if we were mixing speeds and such, that would be another topic. I still find RAM to be the most likely culprit, just not for this reason.

It was the CPU. Changed to Ryzen 7 5800X and updated the BIOS. No more crashes or errors of any kind.

Thanks for all of your help.
Ahhh, didn't make it this far in the thread haha. I had a pre-built a while ago that had similar issues, but I rebuilt it from the ground up so I never found out what the issue was. Started with a fried PSU, and a new one didn't fix it, so I just replaced everything except the case and it was fixed lol. Good to know it was probably a cheaper component but oh well. Glad to hear you're back up and running though.
