PC crashes when playing games

My PC keeps on crashing or freezing while playing games. Sometimes it lags even though my ping is good. I expecting there is some error from my combination. Need help from expert.

System Specs:
Case: Zalman z9
PSU: Cooler Master 550W
Mother Board: Asus M5A97 R2.0
CPU: AMD FX-8350 4.0GHz
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Seidon 120v
Memory: Kingston Hyper X beast 32GB
GPU: Sapphire Dual-X Radeon R9 270X OC 2GB GDDR5 Graphics Card with Boost
SSD : Kingston Technology 120GB Solid State Drive 2.5-inch V300 SATA 3
HDD: WD 1TB Desktop SATA Hard Drive - OEM - Green
OS: Windows 8.1 Pro 64-Bit

Unless it is one of the new V-series, your PSU is most likely not able to hold up its end of the log, so it wanders out of spec until your system crashes. A quality 550W PSU is enough for your system, but CM offers mostly mediocre to bad PSUs. Unfortunately there would be few ways to test this, unless you have a lower-powered graphics card to install. You might artificially lower the clocks of your card some.
Another possibility is that your VRMs are overheating, although I'd expect this to cause lags but not crashes. Your liquid cooler does little or nothing for motherboard components. Make sure you have good airflow through your case, and maybe add an Antec SpotCool to point at the VRMs.
