I upgraded my cpu from an i3 4170 to a xeon e3 1270 v3 and my pc started crashing randomly. I ran cinebench r23 and it was fine, no crashes. The temps did reach around 90⁰C but I'm planning to replace the stock intel cooler anyways. I also launched a game for a few minutes and it ran fine, but when I closed it the pc crashed. Monitor loses signal, pc stays powered on, peripherals also are powered on but cant do anything with them so I have to hold down the power button to shut it off. Audio is also for some reason screwed up on both the headphones and monitor speakers. Theres crackling/popping/static noise when audio is being played.
Specs Before:
CPU: Intel i3-4170
Motherboard: Gigabyte H81M-S
RAM: 16GB
GPU: Sapphire Pulse RX550 2GB
PSU: 750W (doesnt have a brand name)
Specs After:
CPU: Intel Xeon E3-1270-V3
Motherboard: Gigabyte H81M-S
RAM: 16GB
GPU: Sapphire Pulse RX550 2GB
PSU: 750W (doesnt have a brand name)
Fixes I've Tried:
Clear CMOS
Reseat RAM (and every other component)
Update Windows
Reinstall Windows
Change TdrDelay value
Updating Chipset Drivers
Updating/Reinstalling GPU drivers
Updating BIOS
I think it might be the PSU that's the problem but I'm not sure. Do you guys have any idea as to why this is happening and how to fix it?
