My PC has been freezing lately and I've been trying to diagnostic the issue.

I noticed that sometimes my fans are running at 100%. I ran a stress test and my CPUs seem to be too hot.

Any advice?

A new application of thermal compound might help if it is CPU temperature related...

Check HWMonitor to see your temps....

If it is temps, a new light coating of thermal compound might make it last another few years...
When do you actually experience freezes in day-to-day use? The temps at those times would be more relevant.
Prime95 pushes the CPU well beyond any "real world" stress - so just because it's hitting 100'C under Prime, doesn't necessarily mean it's getting that hot in your daily use............ 100'C in Prime95 isn't a good sign though.

What did your idle temps look like before running Prime95? While Prime is definitely stressful, to be at ~100'C within 60 seconds of starting Prime (16:30 start, 16:31 = 100'c) is a substantial jump.

It's an old i7 920.

My PC is a DELL Studio XPS 9000 from years ago. Everything is original.

Idle temperature is around 45C.

It usually happen when I watch a YouTube video, everything freezes, PC stops running and the image is stuck on the screen.
I have to hard reboot.
