My PC has been crashing to a blue screen that says Critical Process Died and then immediately shutting down when playing games. Specifically overwatch. I ran furmark and y crusher for a bit but I’ve never gotten it to crash during a stress test.

Interestingly, I used to have this problem but then after cleaning out my pc with some compressed air, it stopped crashing. However, it started crashing again.

The gpu gets up to around 80c at load and the cpu lower than that.

I have reinstalled windows but that didn’t help. I have reseated the ram and graphics card and checked connections in the computer.

Weirdly I have just found one more scenario in which it crashes. I decided to uninstall overwatch and reinstall it on the NVME drive that my OS is on (C drive.) It was previously on a SATA SSD (D drive) that is used for storage and some programs. However, during the download/installation onto my C drive, my PC crashes so I can’t even install it.

So I’ve reinstalled Overwatch on my D drive and it doesn't crash during the install. It seemed to be working for a while but then I minimized overwatch and opened chrome. It was mostly unresponsive for about 10 seconds and then it blue screened again while chrome was trying to open.

From my reading, it might be a power supply issue regarding power spikes. It might be my C drive is failing, or maybe the ram is failing.

I've looked at the event viewer but am not sure how to interpret the info. I did see an error with event ID 41 category 63.

Any help on how to troubleshoot from here is greatly appreciated.

How is the NZXT AIO mounted in your case?

You might want to see if you can source(borrow, not buy) a spare SSD and install the OS onto it, as well as the game and see if the issue persists. If it doesn't then the M.2 SSD you have might be the culprit here. Thermally throttling and causing the shutdown.

The RTX 3000 series was notorious for having high transient load spikes. Users were asked to over provision on their PSU wattage, while also investing on a reliably built unit. Since you own an RTX 3090, users were asked to invest into a 1.2KW unit(no, I'm not kidding). I'd source a higher wattage unit of reliable make and model and see if the issue persists.

The radiator is mounted on the front with the fans sort of outside the case blowing in and the radiator inside. It does result in the front panel not actually able to stay on so the fans are exposed.

Ok I’ll see about another SSD. I do have two other computers here that my family us that have SSDs that already have windows on them. Could I just swap one into my computer or is there any reason I’d need a fresh install?

Wow 1.2k seems crazy high. Maybe I’ll buy a new higher wattage PSU and i could just return it if it doesn’t solve the issue I suppose. Thanks for helping
