Hi,

I am considering buying a 120 hz display but I hear to experience the advantage of 120hz you actually need your games to run on 120fps is this true? If yes how powerful pc setup would you need? Did any of you guys had a chance to experience true 120hz is it worth it? What is your PC setup and what games do you play?
I have i5 3570k with ati 7870 2gb most games on full detail i manage to run at 60 fps so I dont see a point of buying 120 hz display if i am not going to benefit from it. Would crossfiring another 7870 help me achieve 120 or should i think about getting a complete upgrade? Please share your thoughts

120hz advances come at all FPS, but that isn't to say that 120 FPS is the best. Even at 60 FPS, tearing is reduced considerably if you go without V-sync, and with V-sync, you have a little less stutter when you can't maintain 60 FPS, as your monitor can now handle 33.3ms, 25ms, 16.7ms, 8.3ms frame times, instead of just 33.3ms and 16.7ms (I'm not considering below 30 FPS).

120 FPS is better, but not required to see at least some benefit.
