So I have this Compaq computer with all the bad software. I am going to reformat it with a windows OEM and get rid of AOL the disney channel and other stuff. But there is one program I like and that is is PC Doctor. It allows you to check all parts of the computer. It runs tests on your RAM, Video card, everything. I wouldn't mind keeping it, but as they say, everything must go when you reformat. So is there a way of keeping that program or are there others that do the same thing and where can I get them????

There are others - Everest comes to mind.

However, for many utility programs (PC Doc may be one of them), there is nothing important installed in directories other than the program one, so its probably safe to just copy the PC Doctor folder from Program Files for safekeeping.
