Question PC does not detect monitor when display is turned off

I am currently running a dual monitor setup and just recently replaced my main monitor and GPU. The problem that I have is that when my main monitor falls asleep, the PC no longer detects it and shifts everything over to my secondary monitor and turns that into the main monitor until it turn my main one back on. With my old main monitor and current secondary monitor, when I turn it off or when it falls asleep, everything "virtually" stays where its at and I know it because I am able to drag windows/tabs "behind the black screen" when the monitor is off. Any help would be appreciated.

One sounds like it's just dimming the screen, other one sounds like it's actually going into low power mode and disconnecting. Check the monitor power settings.
