there was a pretty big update for windows 10 recently, and after the update my PC will not shutdown all the way. The monitor, keyboard, and mouse all shutdown but my PC still remains lingering with the lights on and fans still spinning. I have to press the power button once to turn it off completely.

any idea how to fix this annoying problem?

Solution
I found a solution that worked.

Its the fast reboot option under shutdown options, at least it was for me!

To summarize

1) Bring up Power Options (right click on Windows Icon Bottom Left)
2) Select Choose what the power buttons do (left margin options)
3) Select Change Settings that are currently unavailable
4) Shutdown Settings: Uncheck Turn on fast startup

Save changes and shutdown.
