Hi,

i recently built a pc consisting of:
i5 4460
c226ws server motherboard
16gb (4x4) eec memory
corsair cx 750m
250gb ssd, no hdd
gtx 1050ti (no 6-pin, pug and play)
windows 10

i installed windows using only the cpu, but when i installed the gpu today i ran into a problem. the pc boots but doesn't output to the display. (i am using hdmi). I also tried using other pcie slots or putting my gtx1060 3g in. (1060 zit require 6-pin power.) When the gpu is in, neither the gpu hdmi nor the hdmi port on the motherboard itself works. is this caused by using a server motherboard? because on my h97 and z97 motherboards i never had any touble with displays after installing a new gpu even without bios updates, drivers, or bios settings.

now i need help to be able to use my gpu as video output.

things i have not done yet but am going to do in 2 hours:
remove gpu
install graphics driver
update bios
change bios setting to use pci grpahics instead of onboard graphics.

problem here is that:
i do not know how to enter the bios..
when i turn on the pc it doesn't post. pressing the delete key after startup should take me to the bios, but it only shows a screen which shows that the pc recocnises the ssd. after this is boots straight into windows. (i am using a g610 orion keyboard, does this turn on too late and should i try another keyboard?). everything in this paragraph is also not shown via the gpu. only with the gpu removed.

thanks in advance for any tips you might have.

i will post an update in about 2-3 hours to show what happens after installing drivers and updating the bios.

Entering BOIS wont help you much. First try to use DVI/VGA cable, HDMI request drivers to work properly then you could switch back after installing the drivers. It is hard to enter BIOS with SSD try to press F11 or F12 after reboot one of them should prompt you BIOS or boot option where you could select BIOS.

i don't currently have a dvi nor a vga cable. i will try installing drivers first then or changing video output in bios. if all else fails i will buy a cable to try. if needed should i buy a dvi cable for higher resoluiton, or vga for cheapskatelife
