My PC shut's down but 5 seconds letter just restarts and boots back-up. Not too sure what the issue might be? Pretty sure all my drivers are up to date and everything runs OK, just won't shut down.

Occasionally, it will reset the boot devices and forget the time too if I've switched it off by the power supply which I have to resort to all the time!

Specs:
  • Intel® Core™i5 Quad Core Processor i5-4690K (3.5GHz) 6MB Cache
  • Gigabyte Z97-HD3: ATX, LG1150, USB 3.0, SATA 6GBs
  • 16GB KINGSTON DUAL-DDR3 1600MHz (2 x 8GB)
  • 4GB NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 970
  • CORSAIR 650W CS SERIES

Thanks!

So what happened recently? The few times I had an issue like this it turned out to be a bios setting. One of my older machines "hated" AMD cool n quiet it was an absolute no no did just this you describe. Did you just do a bios update on your computer perhaps? I would try resetting to bios default settings, replace that battery if you're losing time they're like four bucks for a name brand it's a common battery should be available just about anywhere from walgreens to Walmart, target etc. Are you overclocking anything? New ram? Retrace recent steps....could be many things unfortunately.
