hello. I built a new pc this august. I had no problems untill now where my pc doesnt start up at all. no fans no nothing.
I tried:

  • switching power button and reset pins
removing cmos battery and its memory with jumpers
checking my psu with the paperclip trick
booting up with only 1 stick of ram

yesterday i had the same issue however i managed to boot my pc after holding my power button down for 30 seconds with no power plugged in to the pc. that didnt work today.

im assuming my mobo is broken but i still wanna post just in case there is something else to try

mark_ I have highlighted in bold type part of your original post. This doesn't make sense as no pc or electrical/electronic device is going to start/power-up without power.
Re. the problem, it sounds like a bad power supply - paperclip test or not. You might be correct that the mobo has died, but try using a different power supply and see if that doesn't solve the problem. Borrrow a known, good, working PSU from someone, uninstall you CX, hook up the working PSU, and see if the PC fires up. You won't be gaming on it or anything, so 450 watt or greater PSU will work for this test.
This is a good starting point; if the PC doesn't fire up with the test PSU, try your PSU in another computer. If the other PC fires up with YOUR psu hooked u p, then it is on to troubleshooting other parts.

FELLOW forum members, please replly to Mark with any possible solutions and help him out. Thanks.

i have tried both the paperclip test and using my psu on a different pc, neither worked.

i have now given my motherboard back to the store since it is still under warranty.

thank you for your help!
i will make sure to post again if i encounter another problem

Are you saying that your PSU did not power up a different PC?
