Pc doesn't turn on unless I reset my psu

So my pc turns off and doesn't turn back on at all, I thought at first it was my psu so I did the paper clip test and that's the only way my pc will turn on now.

I've done many different tests on different components to try and find the source of why it keeps shutting down. None worked, the only way to get it working again is to remove my psu, do the paperclip test and then it works fine again. Is there something im missing?

My specs are;
i7-4790k @ 4.00ghz
16GB DUAL-DDR3 1600MHz
Nvidia geforce gtx 980 4gb
650w psu

The power supply only starts when disconnect from the system? And the system does start? Does it start with the cases front panel? What brand/model psu. Sounds like bad PSU or short somewhere inside of cabling

Well it seems to turn off after about an hour or so of gaming, I did a stress test for my gpu as well to see if it was that. It shut down and didn't come on for another 2 or so hours.

It's a corsair vs series 650w

Sorry to just get back to you now. So the pc won't even turn back on when it dies? Try plugging the PC into another outlet, making sure it is grounded. it seems like you may be getting problems lacking power. I've never heard of a pc not turning on for a certain amount of time

PSU is dead. I'm afraid yours is not Haswell compatible.
