Every time I transport my PC or when a power outage occurs, naturally, I turn off the power supply. However, when the system is set up again and the power supply is turned back on and plugged in, the first boot is always a double boot. The double boot does not occur after the first instance until I turn my PSU off and on again. This did not happen when the PC was first built. It's not a huge deal, but I would like to know whether or not this is an issue with the power supply or BIOS, or maybe even the M.2 SSD. Is anyone knowledgeable on this topic?

Do you use the normal Windows screen shutdown button to shutdown before turning off the power supply?

And do you wait until Windows completes its' housecleaning and executes the shutdown?

Update your post to include full system hardware specs and OS information.

Include PSU: make, model, wattage, age, condition.

Any beeps heard at any time? Any problems with system date and time?

Start by trying a new CMOS battery if the battery has not been replaced.
