Hey guys as the title says my PC recently has been dropping frames and lagging now and then, this only started recently as before i had no trouble with CSGO and Fortnite, but now its just really laggy and dropping frames all the time and getting screen tearing on csgo as where i wasn't before.

I've defragged the hdd, ran malwarebytes, lowered the game settings and nothing.

anymore if info let me know :) Thanks.

system specs

Windows 10 64 Bit
CPU: amd-4100
GPU: amd r9 380
RAM: 8GB
HDD: Seagate 500GB

^ As Night stated, check the temperatures using HWInfo64 while playing your games. Also, run task manager and screenshot CPU, RAM, & HDD usage when running the games.
How old is the system? What settings do you run the games on? Have you done any updates to Windows or device drivers before the occurrence?

Check your CPU temperature and see if it spikes. If it does, either your CPU fan is failing or your cooler needs some cleaning.

Do the same for your graphics card.

Another possibility is a failing hard drive.

Thanks for the reply these are all the screenshots i done while playing CSGO and run on minimum settings as i want the best FPS possible.

I've had the PC around 2 months now as i bought it 2nd hand and i've done no updates other than amd driver update, but i think it was already doing that before.

The temperatures look normal, but unless the screenshot is taken just as it happens, it doesn't really represent what is really happening...

it's best to get results using HWinfo64 during playing a game. You do that by clicking on the sensors tab. HWinfo64 shows all results from all sensors it detects, and it records your average temperature, but more importantly your maximum temperature remains on screen after you're finished playing. It's the maximum we want, because that's the point where we can start seeing throttling.

If we don't see anything, we have to start looking somewhere else. Btw, your HWinfo screenshot doesn't show the hard drive health. Check if there are no errors there.

SO far the spikes in your CPU could be the reasonining behind the random acts of fps dropping. Also, the RAM usage might be near max as well. 8GB is pretty much nothing these days with gaming and I don't care if anyone disagrees since my statement is justified by my personal experience. 16GB was never enough for me, so I can only imagine what 8GB is like and I finally bought 32GB and I can say IM OK with the amount of RAM I have.
