Hello guys!

My PC started doing false starts just this month, I have a i7 8700k OCed at 4.7ghz, GTX 970, HyperX 2400mhz, Asus ROG Strix z370-F, FSP 650w 80 Plus Gold. I can't even confirm it is false starts, the PC will boot upon pressing, lights and fans go on and then shuts off for a brief second, turns on again and then proceeds to boot screen then to windows without any issues. |

I have overclocked my rig and it didn't seem to do that right after overclocking, this also only happens often and the most recent of it is if my brother uses it in the morning, turns it off and unplug it only an hour before I use it plug it again and then boot it, most of the time it boots normally

I just want to know if this is normal or there's something wrong with my rig already

thanks!

You can submit an RMA request here:

You will need to find the serial number of your unit, which should be on the box if you still have it, Maayyybee on the unit itself as well. Plus you'll need a copy of the original purchase receipt or invoice, unless of course you registered the product when you bought it, which I hope (Always register EVERY SINGLE piece of hardware with the manufacturer, ten seconds after you take it out of the box. Always) you did, because that will make the process a much simpler one.

If you have no receipt, no invoice, and no serial number information, probably not going to happen, but it's worth a shot.

How do you identify if there's a short circuit? It just died down like shut off my pc nothing smells burnt or anything it just stopped responding..

It is sad really but i cant believe that it's just decent i guess you really have to opt for the top

Thanks for the reply!

bought the unit past a year now and yes i have tested the paperclip technique and the fans dont work, tested the paperclip on a different psu and it ran fine. the psu is fully modular so i cant tell if it's just the 24 pin motherboard cable that might be the culprit

I bought the unit at the retail store brand new and i have it since then

ahh thanks for the information! I've already sent FSP an email since I'm nowhere near anywhere their area
