Hello Tech Enthusiasts,

I recently built my mini-itx gaming PC for which the specs are:
CPU: Intel Core i5 6500 Quad Core LGA 1151 3.2 GHz
MB: Asus B150i PRO GAMING/WIFI/AURA Mini ITX LGA1151
RAM: G.SKILL Ripjaws V 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 2400MHz
SSD: Samsung Evo 850 500GB
PSU: Thermaltake Toughpower DPS G RGB 650W Gold ATX Power Supply
GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB SC GAMING

The system worked perfectly for the first two weeks. Then, I flashed the latest BIOS from ASUS's website alongwith other drivers (unfortunately without backing up original BIOS). The system now boots for like 5 seconds and shuts down at windows logo screen. The second time it works just fine. I have played Just Cause 3 and GTA V for over an hour many times. The CPU load temps are below 60C with stock cooler and the system never crashes or shows any signs of instability.

I contacted ASUS technical support and cleared CMOS battery on their suggestion but it didn't help. I have tried changing different power outlets, removing other accessories, unplugged every component from PSU and motherboard and reconnected everything back again. The problem still remains the same.

I wonder if it is due to a lost BIOS setting that I hadn't backup and flashed. My retailer has mentioned that if the component is not faulty, they will charge me postage plus a fee of $50. Is there any way of knowing for sure if it is a motherboard problem? The PSU is really high end and worked really well before I upgraded BIOS. CPU cooler should be alright as it is below 30 C idle and below 60C under load. Please help guys!!! What do you think? Would it be a safe bet to return the motherboard? Thanks in advance!!!

Solution
Go to your bios settings. There must be a setting with options that are AHCI,SATA,RAID.. You can probably find it in your Boot settings or somewhere near that. Try changing the current setting to AHCI and see what happens
