So I upgraded to an i7-7700 a few days ago. After the upgrade there has been an increase in the noise from my case fans.

MB: Asus B150 Pro Gaming Aura
GPU: Asus 970 Turbo

According to CPU HWID monitor
Chassis #1-3 fan : 1000-1100 rpm
CPU fan : 1700-1950 rpm
GPU fan: 1250~rpm

I'm relatively okay with the noise but I wanna know if these fan values are average RPMs or should something be done to lower it?

The 7700's are know for bad thermal past under the lid causing them to heat up more then normal cpus. Not knowing what cpu you upgraded from i would say that the new cpu is putting out more heat and the fans are ramping up more to keep it cool.

I'm using the intel stock cooler!

Did you update your BIOS to the latest version? Or which version is running on it now?

https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/B150-PRO-GAMING-AURA/HelpDesk_BIOS/

Did you reuse the cpu cooler from the i5-6500? Did you reapply the thermal paste?

How hot is your CPU in idle and under load?

I also would uninstall all processors in device manager and reboot windows

I tried to update the bios using ezflash and it was up to date

I'm using a the new stock cooler that came with the i7 with fresh thermal paste

In idle its about 40C, in Destiny 2 its about 60+~C
Update: I restarted my computer and checked my CPU HWID monitor and the temp went up to 86C and CPU fan was at 3k rpm LOL. Restarted again and it went back to normal

Maybe I should plan to get a better cooler like the CM 212?
