[SOLVED] Pc fan running. But no display.

Hi,

I'm using ASUS m4a88t-m motherboard. While I was cleaning the CPU, I removed the CMOS battery and then I re-plugged it in. After that my pc was not booting. Only CPU fan runs, but no display on monitor and no power for keyboard and mouse.

As I surfed google, it seems that pc can start without CMOS battery.

Kindly help in fixing this. Thanks in Advance

same thing happend to me, some PCs/Laptops emit flashing LEDs or beeps as a Code to notify you what's causing the problem ( check the picture )

my Pc gave me 3beeps so i fixed it by unplugging my Rams and after plugging them back the computer worked like a charm. (unplug any source of power before doing this [PSU] )

Note that some brands/manufacturers have different Codes.

When battery was removed the Bios was reset.
Where is the monitor connected - IGpu or Video card, If you are plugged into video card try the Igpu on motherboard.

Monitor was connected with VGA port of motherboard

Not alot of info on your boot process in manual. Do have these small leds?

Need to determine where bios stops.
Another option might be to try to force bios by pressing the del key while booting, it just might start into bios and give you a screen.

Don't overlook possible CPU problem -- If you removed it for cleaning you may have bent some of it's pins when you put it back. Best to check.

The model that I have no Q-Led in it. It is a 10 year old model from ASUS.

Did you solve the problem? I have the same issue with my ASUS motherboard. 😞
