Hello, community.

Let me start off by saying that I googled and searched for the answer to my question here on Tom's HW, but to no suffice.

My system:
Win 8.1x64
MB: ASUS P8H77-M/CSM
PC Case: Zalman Z11+

Problem:
During initial boot up process my PC's cooling fans spin extra fast. After Win 8.1 loads up the fans go quiet.

Question:
Why does this happen?
I clean my system every 2 months.
How to remedy this situation?

Thanks in advance,
Max.

Solution
This is normal behavior, for any computer.

It's a fail safe in case of POST failure. It's better to have the chassis fans on high if POST failed, because if so sensors won't be able to detect anything. In short It's to prevent overheating

A solution would be to get fans that aren't noisy, not even at full RPM. Something like 22-23 DbA max. Plenty of those around.

Certain Scythe Slipstream-models, Noctua SF12, Noctua F12 (not the ippc-model), be! quiet-fans etc. I'm talking about 120mm fans. If you can fit that size in your case or bigger, wonderful. Bigger size on fan = Better cooling for less noise.
