[SOLVED] pc fast Ethernet port vs gigabit port lan network speed

today my friend bring his laptop and we networked our laptop and pc, i have desktop pc, my network port speed is 1gpbs it mean i have gigabit network port, friend laptop have fast Ethernet port it mean his maximum network speed Mbps.. so i we copy some files and it speed Mbps its take finish much time. so i want to ask what if set same speed both networks i mean we set our pc network speed as Mbps ,can we get more speed i mean can we extend Mbps to high Mbps? who have did this method?? we tried 1st time gone 50 Mbps and came down 2 Mbps, but i want to know can we get more speed if we set same speed? sorry for my bad English,,

If your friend has a fast ethernet card, there's not much you can do besides upgrade to a gigabit nic somehow--easiest way is with a usb 2.0 or better usb 3.0 nic. These can run much faster than 100Mbps, usually up to 300Mbps with usb 2.0 in my experience, and full gigabit with usb 3.0, depending on cpu. Either way much, much faster than 100Mbps.
